{"id":935,"date":"2020-02-20T18:16:41","date_gmt":"2020-02-20T17:16:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.evostar.org\/2020\/?page_id=935"},"modified":"2020-02-20T18:17:37","modified_gmt":"2020-02-20T17:17:37","slug":"evohackathon-2020","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.evostar.org\/2020\/evohackathon-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"EvoHackathon 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This year, and to foster collaboration among bioinspired algorithm practitioners and help them achieve reproducibility in science, a EvoHackathon will take place the day before EvoStar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"who\">Who<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone can participate, whether they\u2019re part of the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.evostar.org\/2020\/\">EvoStar 2020<\/a>&nbsp;conference or not; the only requisite is that they want to share their code for improvement with the rest of the participants, or want to help improve other participant\u2019s code. Tutors are alwo welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hackathon is presential, and will be hosted by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.informatica.us.es\/\">ETSII at the University of Sevilla<\/a>, kindly provided by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sugus.eii.us.es\/\">SUGUS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"when\">When<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>April 14th, 2020, from 9:30 to 18:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what\">What<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective of the hackathon is to engage with code, learning best practices in reproducible software and helping others achieve that reproducibility. This will be arranged in the following schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>9:30 &#8211; 10:00 \u2192 Meet &amp; greet<\/li><li>10:00 &#8211; 10:30 \u2192 Brief presentation: test driven development and science reprodubility.<\/li><li>10:30 &#8211; 11:00 \u2192 Project pitch: those who are bringing their code to the hackathon will make a brief introduction and a wishlist for them.<\/li><li>11:00 &#8211; 11:45 \u2192 Coffee break, and organization of teams.<\/li><li>11:45 &#8211; 14:00 \u2192 Team work<\/li><li>14:00 &#8211; 15:30 \u2192 Networking lunch onsite.<\/li><li>15:30 &#8211; 17:00 \u2192 Team work<\/li><li>17:00 &#8211; 18:00 \u2192 Project presentation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"organizers\">Organizers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The main organizer is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/JJ\">JJ Merelo<\/a>, professor and free software developer, aided by the following tutors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Mario Garc\u00eda Valdez, Tijuana Technological institute.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"registration\">Registration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Register&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/3P3SNKC\">here<\/a>.
