{"id":1813,"date":"2022-02-07T09:21:38","date_gmt":"2022-02-07T08:21:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.evostar.org\/2022\/?page_id=1813"},"modified":"2022-02-07T09:21:39","modified_gmt":"2022-02-07T08:21:39","slug":"evostar-outstanding-students","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.evostar.org\/2022\/evostar-outstanding-students\/","title":{"rendered":"EvoStar Outstanding Students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Outstanding Student Mentions are EvoStar\u2019s way to recognise the good work of our students and recent graduates, who represent the future of the EvoStar community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can I become an EvoStar Outstanding Student?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To become an Outstanding Student you need to comply with three requirements&nbsp;<strong>simultaneously<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Submit a paper indicating that the main part of the work was carried out by a student<\/li><li>Obtain an overall review score<span style=\"color: gray\">(*)<\/span>&nbsp;greater than or equal to 2&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>or<\/strong>&nbsp;be nominated for a Best Paper Award<\/li><li>Register at EvoStar (onsite or online) and submit proof of studentship&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you were a student at the time of carrying out the work for the paper, but have graduated in the 12 months prior to the submission deadline, you can replace the proof of studentship with a letter signed by your former supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color: gray\">(*) Calculated as the average of the marks given by all reviewers.<br>E.g. for a paper that obtains (1,0,0,3) the overall score would be 1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What do I get?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The perks of being nominated as an Outstanding Student are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A certificate of your nomination<\/li><li>The possibility to candidate for Best Student Poster<\/li><li>Free registration in the next EvoStar event<\/li><li>Extra points if you candidate for one of the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/species-society.org\/species-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\">SPECIES Scholarships<\/a><\/li><li>A great t-shirt!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I apply?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t need to!
