Université Toulouse Capitole was founded in 1229, making it the second oldest university in France after the Sorbonne. Originally established as a Faculty of Canon Law by King Saint Louis, it has evolved into a prestigious public university specializing in Law, Economics, and Management. The university is one of only two French establishments to feature in the top 100 of the Shanghai World Academic ranking in Economics/Business studies.

UT Capitole remains on its historical site in the town center, educating more than 20,000 students every year, over 15% of which are international students. The university’s beautiful central location offers easy access to Toulouse’s vibrant city center, with the iconic Place du Capitole just a 5 minute walk away. The historic university buildings blend traditional architecture with modern facilities, providing an ideal setting for an international academic conference.
